The Good Shepherd

He feeds his flock, but not by bread alone.
He finds those who are lost and guides them back home;
for when one wanders off He'll search far and near:
holding the life of each one to be dear.
In His eyes every lamb is to be treasured.
Our value to Him isn't lightly measured.
Though by us it's unconventional,
His love for us remains incomprehensible.
He shelters any in need, keeping them safe from harm;
so come what may there's no need for alarm.
Even though I'm only one of many in His fold
His care for me shall never wax cold.
Assuredly He supplies all our daily needs.
To become one of His flock simply believe
in the one who became our atonement sacrifice
our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
You can trust that He'll keep His word,
for without fail, He's truly ... the Good Shepherd.
