Driven By A Dream

She wakes up every morning
facing nature’s scheme,
and through the lonely world she walks
driven by a dream.

A dream that love will find her
near the open sea;
a dream that all the sorrow
will one day set her free.

She cares for many things each day,
touching from within.
She bears the pain of loveless nights
while sipping on her gin.

Her heart does yearn for so much more
than milking blood from stones;
and if you listen carefully,
you can hear her silent moans.

She wakes up every morning
facing nature’s scheme;
and through the lonely world she walks
driven by a dream.
