A Day in the Life of Love

The sun’s not quite up, but yet filters in –
It’s the husband’s time for him on her skin…

Breakfast and lunch prep, then kids out the door –
Just one slight delay: a shoe to look for…

Cookies and brownies baked fresh for the day –
Some for school, some for scouts, some for ballet…

A crock-potted meal all set for ‘bout eight –
Next, Pop to the doctor; bills while in wait…

The ball fields are next for some in her care –
Equipment and water bottles to share…

At half-time, there’s a quick run to the store –
Someone needs tape for their class dance décor…

And, oh!, don’t forget some extra cake mix –
And, of course, play rehearsal starts at six…

Back at the fields, the game’s in overtime –
No worries, somehow they'll make dinner time…

Homework begins as ev’ryone gets home –
“Who spilled this soda? It wasn’t a gnome!”

Finally, all have been bathed and well-fed -
Mom’s LOVE for fam’ly without 'the word' said!
