a ghost poem

Madelaine

by judester

They say a ghost haunts Haver House
since nineteen sixty eight.
They say a spectral beauty
seeks justice for her fate.

She drifts around neglected grounds,
if you listen, you can hear.
The rustle of her chiffon gown,
her cries as she drifts near.

The town speaks of her sadly,
in whispered breaths, they sigh.
She was lured, then murdered,
No one could figure why.

She floats between old gardens,
beyond the cherry trees.
I know she cries for justice ~
Because, that ghost is me.
