My very First Limericks

Know When to Fold'Em

by Earl Corp

My mother was a joker
She loved playing her poker
She’d sit with a leer
While drinking a beer
T’were it water it’d choke her

There was a cowboy named Bob
Who was a big fat slob
He roped a steer
while drinking a beer
Saying I have a great job

Once was a gambler with no soul
In his forehead was a hole
Disgust on their faces
Dealt himself three aces
Bart remedied it with a pistol

Five Card Stud....And More! writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a fun limerick about your favorite card game... poker, go fish, Uno!, Pinochle, Hearts, and MANY more!! It could be about the card game itself or an experience you had (fictional or not!) playing cards. :) ;) ;)
And we're not going to be 'hard over' on the syllable count, folks -- just make it fit the general format of FIVE Lines with aabba rhyme scheme. Of course, the b's there are usually shorter than the a's, but we'll let the voters decide if yours is the best! ;) ;)
And, remember: make it fun! Make it entertaining! But, most of all, make us want to vote for yours! ;) ;)

My first attempt at writing Limericks. Once I got started I couldn't quit. Having to adhere to a syllable count is hard! I'm still not sure I did it right. Enjoy, It was fun to write.
