Seeing In The Dark

by LisaMay

Your golden dog,
happy to be home,
circles twice then settles
beside our bed

in the dark.

We settle, too –
homing in on each other.
In our echo chamber
your ears hear my heart

in the dark.

We know each other’s
textures and tastes.
Our tactile world
makes sense

in the dark.

I touch and am touched;
you fill my eyes.
I am your vision of loveliness.
You’ll see what you mean to me

in this light.
