A Carnal Victory

by Y. M. Roger

As the sun rises,
its warmth entices my face
to open for you

Your song, it beckons,
and your soft touch on my core
stirs my inner scents

I give of myself,
sweet nectar from deep within –
for it’s what you crave

Yet, as you leave me,
know that – though you don’t look back –
you wear my essence

It covers you as
your song calls to another –
our tryst forgotten

But know, it is I
who used your craving for gain –
my nectar ‘twas ruse

For to other blooms,
dear bee, you’ll bear my pollen –
assuring my kind
