I sit here in the dark
Suddenly imagination strikes a spark
The spark enkindles the flame
My poem has a name!

I work hard for quite a time
On verse, rhythm and rhyme
It could be a quatrain,
Or maybe a cinquain

A poem emanates from my womb of feeling
It could be woe; it could be healing
In the birth of a Fan Story poem
I think of my fellow writers, grateful to know them

They give me inspiration
As well as dedication
The lines I've read on Fan Story
Have a special meaning for me
