The river's secret to a long life

Going With The Flow

by BlueMarble

Leaving its home
Far up north,
A stream of water
Ventured forth.
Laughing and singing
It flowed along.
Others joined in
And added their song.
Strangers were welcome
To join its ranks,
Adding new depth
To its banks.
Wider and deeper
It continued to grow,
Still keeping its tempo
Gentle and slow.
Hearing its music,
It sang to me,
The secret of living
A life carefree.
The Mighty Mississippi
Gently found its existence,
By taking the path
Of least resistance.
Never a taker -
Always a giver,
Long is the life
Of this mighty river.
