A Drop Of Rain

by dovemarie

A drop of rain
A stab of pain
Something lost, I can't regain
Please help, before I go insane

A drop of rain
A tear stain
Blood drips from my vein
As I stare through my window pane

Rejection has been made plain
I feel as though my spirit's been slain
Friendship was all in vain
My poem resounds with a sad strain

A minister of Holy Communion who is also an altar server used to give me rides to and from church. On the first Sunday of Lent, March 10, he said abruptly, when I asked him if he would give me and a friend of mine a ride: "I can't take you to that school. No more rides, I don't want any strangers (my friend) in my car, I'm not a taxi driver." So I went back to my pew and cried, and I cried at home. This isn't the first time something like this has happened to me. I took it badly, but then I felt a drop of rain the other day just as I was leaving church, and that inspired these quatrains.
