The Insistent Roommate

The red dragon stepped out of his lair and took in the morning sunshine and warmth. Suddenly, something brushed up against his leg. A low vibration began echoing off the cave walls.
Lifting his foot, he swatted the creature to the side, but it was back before he cleared the entrance and spread his wings for his ritual breakfast hunt.
“Alright!” Smoke poured from his snout as, rolling his eyes, he lifted the kitten onto his back. “Fish it is.”
