Dreaming of beauty.
Beautiful Dream
by Willie P. Smith
A cool stream of water,
With ripples so clear, Large, old cottonwoods Standing near. Casting their shadow Across the bed of the stream, As the water rushes forward So fresh and clean. Standing pools of water Reflect the clear, blue sky And the cotton white clouds, As they pass by. A leaf falls From a large cottonwood, It floats down steam Like a toy boat would. The rocks cause a foam As water rushes on it's way. Painting a perfect picture, Of a quiet country day. I see this scene often, And it's quite a sight, When my mind is free And my eyes closed tight. Dreaming of sights I used to see in my youth.
