A Note from Bentley

Hi, my name is Bentley
seven years old am I
handsome, smart, beautiful dark eyes
my favorite food is cheesy french fries

my great-grandma gives me the biggest hugs
takes lots of pictures of me for which I mug

I help her with the new tech
like how to turn on my tablet

she asks about my brother and sisters
and I reassure her they aren't special like me

great-grandma insists I have an old soul, though
I have no wrinkles or gray hair
but with her, I take great care
while walking together, I tenderly hold her hand
and warn her of shifting sand
must help her when she stands

she tires easily and our time together is short
one day soon our visits will abort
mom says she has illness in her heart

will she remember me after she departs???
