Mirrors do not lie

Truth Teller

by HarryT

Turned on the bathroom lights
Gazed into the mirror
Oh my, is that really me?

Lines cross-hatching every which way
Eyes that once sparkled, now dull gray
Skin botchy, dark spots meander
Worse of all that chicken neck

I peer into the truth teller and check again
Oh gosh, it really is me?
What to do? What to do?

I know! I gotta change those light bulbs
Nothing over 40 watts ever again.
