Crunch

by Maureen Sky

Cereal with milk goes crunch.
Crunchy oatmeal cookie softens nicely when dipped in my coffee.
Cracks in the ice on today's morning walk to the mailbox.
Clutching my mail in my cold hands as I close the mailbox door.
Caution on today's news telling us to be aware of high winds in our area.
Cold windy air coming through the cracks of this old house.
Comfy and cozy now back in my big chair with my favorite afghan on top of me.

Just sort of picked a word and ran with it. This is my first attempt at this style of poem. It was fun and a bit of a challenge.
