Thunderstorm

Six Line Poem Contest Winner
Its fury slashes, rents the midnight skies
with scrawny witch's finger, devil's claws.
As Zeus hurls lightning bolts that blind men's eyes,
the thunder echoes Hera's wrath and cries.
These claps, relentless flashes terrorize,
expose our secret fears and mortal flaws.

Writing Prompt

Zeus is the king of the Greek gods; his realm is the heavens and his weapons are lightning bolts.
Hera is his wife and queen of the gods. She is terribly jealous of Zeus who is a womanizer and her wrath strikes fear into gods and mortals alike.

This format is called an ARCH stanza. A true Arch stanza has six lines; the first five are pentameter (not necessarily iambic) and the last is trimeter. The rhyming is a, b, a, a, a, b. I modified my stanza so all six lines are pentameter.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
