as she is lost
with watery thoughts
a time to reflect
her gratitude to
the Creator of
her ocean home

she thanks Him
for the salty, cool sea
for dolphin friends
for beautiful sea dragons
for sea delicacies to
end her hunger pains

she looks up at the sky
as she swims towards
the depths of blueness
her thoughts become
music as she sings
songs of joy

it is that time
when thanks
should come forth
from this mermaid
for all she has
