Disco Memories

by Y. M. Roger

Disco Inferno Poem Contest Winner

Do you remember…

...John Travolta’s tight polyester pants
and Donna Summer’s iconic Last Dance?

...that the BeeGee’s once gave us Night Fever
And when Gary Wright was our Dream Weaver?

...practicing solo to ABBA’s Dancing Queen
perhaps with a splash like the Flash Dance scene?

...slow dances whispering How Deep is Your Love
and Stevie’s Edge of Seventeen’s white winged dove?

...a Bandstand Celebration with Kool and the Gang
Or Love at First Bite from George Hamilton’s fang?

...the night Disco Inferno burned that mutha down
or the first time you took me to Funkytown?

Of course you remember, who could forget?
And if you’re too young, I’ve got the cassette!
