Let's Dance!

Disco Fever

by Boogienights

We took to the crowded dance floor,
the mirror ball above us twirled.
We were dressed in our best,
shining bright, every guy and every girl.

Girls in dresses glittered
as they glided across the floor.
Guys in multi-colored shirts,
high shoes, neck chains and more.

Lost inside the music,
as Donna Summer sang "Hot Stuff".
Transported down to "Funky Town",
for us it was enough.

Blondie had a "Heart of Glass",
we danced our hearts away.
Singing along, knowing each word,
on the dance floor we would sway.

So happy and free was how we felt,
troubles melted away.
We'd boogie down to the music,
I still listen to today.

The 70's were a time and place,
that fondly I recall.
When disco colors, sights and sounds,
never failed to enthrall.

Out on the scuffed up club floor,
dance fever made us bold.
Disco music from that era,
even now doesn't grow old.

I'd like to go back for one night,
to 1979.
And just once more, hit the club dance floor.
For a wild disco dancing time.
