A chapter in the book In the Dark of Night

Hurry My Children

by fm wright

Hurry my children,
hurry swiftly along.
Hurry my children
for the light is near gone.

The sun is settling down in the west.
Tis time for vampires to arise from their rest.
Venturing out among us to search for a meal;
for they dine on human blood as though it were veal.

So hurry my children;
you must not tarry.
Yes, hurry my children
for of vampires you must be wary.

Hurry my children,
hurry swiftly along.
Hurry my children
for the night is near gone.

It's time we ended our nocturnal quest
and return to our coffins from the day to rest;
for soon mortals will rally forth our fate to seal:
coming for us with pointed stake and sharpened steel.

So hurry my children;
you must not tarry.
Yes, hurry my children
for of mortal kind you must be wary.
