A great adventure

Down the Mississippi

by Boogienights

I have a raft that I have built,
so grand in it's design.
To float it down a river,
is a fantasy of mine.
It has just about everything,
a place to put my bed.
A canopy above it,
keeps sun off of my head.
A little motor filled with gas,
attached onto the back,
will make my raft go faster,
when it's patience that I lack.
A cooler in one corner,
holds the food I want to eat.
Some fruit and nuts,
PB and J and bread make it complete.
I'll take my books,
I love to read,
Huck Finn, Tom Sawyer too.
I'll ride the Mississippi
like Twain's character's would do.
I'll see so many wondrous sites,
an adventure with no rival.
I'll bring along a book,
that gives folks tips for their survival.
When I'm done I'll head for home,
so happy I will be.
When everything is said and done,
there's nothing like family.
So I will roam but come back home,
to those who love me true.
When I have my next adventure
come along with me,
won't you?
