She was definitely the most extraordinary pet our family ever owned. She was a Squirrel monkey (Saimiri) and we named her Lolita .
An exotic name like the Amazon forest her place of birth and from where , for profit and greed ,she was smuggled and sold off to places like America and Europe where tropical monkeys are not even natural inhabitants.

She was the heart of our family for nearly 11 years. She loved going hunting in the warmer weather..Her movements were swift , her tiny slim fingers strong and her teeth razor sharp. There was nothing that survived her grasp : spiders, beetles,candy looking grubs, grasshopers were all on her menu . In winter we compensated with meal worms ...she loved fruits and various nuts all through the year.
