Green Eyed Monster

Dear Jealousy,
How complex you are
Some call you a Green Eyed Monster
Lurking deep within a cave in our souls
If you escape, we become vengeful people
 
Sometimes you rear your ugly head when we’re afraid
Other times when we are fuming with fiery temper
You come not only when we are wounded by romantic loss
But also when envy of another develops and hatred looms
 
Our task - to not allow you, Green Eyed Monster, from your cave
Thus stopping your ability to spread your envious, jealous rage
