Decisions makes one who a person becomes
Playing the Human Game
When I was young, I considered the usual questions:
Who am I? Where did I come from? Why am I here?
Is there a God as the Bible asserts or is God dead as Nietzsche claimed?
Who are we who walk this earth and where will we be when all is done?
In others words, what is our human destiny?
Some say we will be given reward or punishment.
The Hindus say our soul will return to a new physical
body, the cycle will be repeated until Karma is achieved.
The godless say nothingness forever is our endgame.
Regardless of any faith, I know I'm responsible for my becoming.
Acceptance or rejection of a hereafter does not change the essence of my progress.
I know I am a person who needs to be free to choose and to act.
I will not become the one others may wish me to be. Neither others' perception
nor religions professions will I accept to be my commands.
My essence must be the truth I know in my heart --
no lying, no faking, no devising sneaky shams.
Makes no difference to me now, if I know from where the human race came.
It may be I am just a finite piece in a Supreme Power's infinite game or not.
I now realize the questions that I once pondered in my brain:
Where did I come from?
Why am I here?
Will I go back to whence I came?
Or what will others think...
The answers really have no bearing; it is only
I who decides on how I play the human game.
