Suburban prisoner

by zanya

Johnny waited in the morning traffic.

HIs Mustang hummed. He felt lucky, house in suburbia, permanent job.

Another ping on his 1Phone. Glancing at the screen, he saw Mike's number.

Pal from college days. What a loser. Johnny mused. Couldn't make a dime.

Johnny scanned the text :

' Hi old pal. U still holed up in boring suburbia.? .Howz about dropn to L.A a week Tuesday for the launch of my book,' Suburban Prisoners'? ..suburbia ain't cool here..freedom man'

Johnny's pallid face flushed. He loosened his tie.

Climbing the stairs to his office he browsed L.A flights.
