A typical day
My Victorian day

On my day off, I rise from my slumbers early.
No emails or deadlines to address.
I open a window on the past through historical records and ancestry sites.
Ladies in bonnets and long gowns, accompanied by their menfolk, in top hats and waistcoats come out to play.
Soon I am accompanying them, up their marble staircase, into their high- ceilinged drawing rooms , to play serenades on the pianoforte.
By mid afternoon the butler serves tea, with cucumber sandwiches or linen scones.
Too soon they must retire to their dimly-lit boudoir.
I return to modern day maelstrom.
