Growing in Prayer

by fm wright

Now bended down before her bed she does kneel:
to the God of the universe she makes her appeal.
Through all her childhood offering up prayers;
asking for blessings for all those whom she cares.

Now full grown before the altar she does stand.
The ring now placed on the finger of her left hand
she bows her head once again in silent prayer:
offering thanks for the man whose life she'd share.

With the life cycle now coming towards full term:
her faith never waivers but remains strong and firm.
As the days on the calendar onward wear
the child to come also growing in prayer.
