A short play on words and concepts of love.

Can we afford Love?

by fdgsr

One bee, a lot of honey;
one cow, a lot of milk.
America flows with milk and honey;
Promised Land for you and me.

A lot of men, a lot of money;
one woman, out of many.
Promised love, and got reward,
but not the love we could afford.

One child, many living,
One spouse, and never more.
One God, never three,
One 'God' who must be free.

One you are, and one is me,
We are one; we could be free.
Even if we can't agree.
Is God an 'it', a 'he', or 'she'?

I play with words, but pray for truth. I work with keyboard, computer, and mind. Production!
