The Promise to Grandma

Last night my mother called saying my grandmother had a heart attack. She
was alive but it wasn't looking good. I ran to my car and rushed to the
hospital.

When I hurried into the room my grandmother was lying awake. My mother
looked at me and sadly shook her head. My two sisters were weeping.

I took her hand and tried to hold back the tears. Grandma smiled and squeezed back. "Looks like I'm not long for this world, Samuel."

"What can I do for you, Grandma?"

"There is just one thing I need."

"Anything, Grandma, anything." At that point I was already crying.

The pace of the heart monitor started slowing down. She pulled me in close
to whisper in my ear. "Promise you'll do this for me, son."

"I promise, Grandma, with all my heart, I promise."

"I want you to answer the reviews of my last Fanstory post, and if anyone
gave it four stars, tell those sorry bastards to eat shit."

"I will, Grandma, I swear."

Then Grandma smiled, drew her last breath, closed her eyes and died.
