Children's Poem

In A Land That Never Existed

by Ogden

Kiddies motivational poem Contest Winner

In a land that never existed,
that I invented because I couldn’t resist it,
animals were different than you know they are here;
When they had money, monkeys always drank beer.
Birds only sang songs when in a good mood,
and fruitcake with figs was their favorite food.

I used to do things that made everyone laugh,
like the time I climbed up to kiss a giraffe.

I made friends with critters you’ve never seen,
and loved to limbo with a unicorn queen.

It’s strange what our brains can create for us
like change an apple into an octopus.
You have a special brain; do not deny it.
You can make a rhyme; C’mon and try it!
