love/free verse
Love first appeared, a cradled babe,
held within my Mother's arms.
Those selfless acts,
nourished the years...
Love ~ brought me there.
At times a lonely road,
stepping into the unknown.
My dearest friend,
took my hand,
again, led me home...
Love ~ rescued me there.
Love's steady assurance,
comforting rest;
Two beating hearts,
now breathe as one.
While looking to the stars...
Love ~ embraced me there.
This journey through life,
a kaleidoscope in motion...
Beautiful moments ease throbbing heartaches.
A simple smile,
the warmest hug;
Love ~ held me there.
So, when I travel the end of my road,
and seedlings sprout 'neath my steps...
Fall to my knees – a thankful soul,
Love promised ~ to welcome me there.
