Woman Remembered

All to whom she greatly mattered
stood outside the little, grey church
dampened by Angels' teardrops

Within a lady of tremendous courage
one who in spite of agony wouldn't let
illness stop her artful flower

With pain-twisted hands, she hooked
for her beloved niece, her masterpiece,
"Three Monkeys Jumping on the Bed,"

Later inside the church stood a
her nephew who with quivering
voice spoke a loving elegy

Listening sadly in the front pew the
man who brought her love and
life anew...

Tears flowed openly that morning
knowing she was at last agony-free
hooking happily in her heavenly home.
