A life loving literature.
I grew up in a world filled with books,
they helped to block the pitying looks.
They helped when things at school went awry,
for a child who was painfully shy.
I loved to read and write down my thoughts,
sometimes late at night,
I'd put my pain in notebooks
hidden carefully out of sight.
As time went by I learned to heal.
It helped shape who I am today.
Childhood can be hard sometimes,
but most of us make it through okay.
I'm a mother now and still I write,
still fill up notebooks late at night.
Aspiring to be a writer great,
with fame and fortune,
it's never too late.
Someday in a bookstore you just might see,
a best selling novel that was penned by me!
There was a time not long ago,
my poems were something I wouldn't show.
Now I post them in all their glory,
on a wonderful site that's called FanStory.
Along with others just like me,
who love to write stories and poetry.
I look back over the years gone by,
at my loving family
and understand I'm lucky,
How my life turned out to be.
I have the best husband and children,
they're gifts from heaven above.
Who support and encourage my endeavors,
with unconditional love.
I know I shouldn't ask for more,
but my desire remains the same.
To spread my words across the page,
to have everyone know my name.
I won't give up,
I never will,
the notebooks I'll continue to fill.
Maybe it will happen in time,
If it doesn't the work is still mine.
For family members yet to be,
a legacy I can leave behind.
