For many years, even though I was completely deaf on my left side and technically deaf on both sides, I got by with pretty good hearing in my right ear. I made a sign to go on my workstation so that when people wanted to speak to me they would know the best side to approach me on. These days the right ear is almost completely deaf and a new hearing aid on the left lets it do all the work, now. My real name is Geoffrey.
