Balloon Memories

by Boogienights

I watched a red balloon rise in the sky,
a child had let it go,
he laughed with delight,
as he watched it sail,
he wasn't sad at all.
Can you imagine all the balloons,
you've had since you were small?
Balloons on every birthday,
every circus and fair...
Could you possibly count them all?
So many colors, different shapes,
cartoon balloons too.
Balloons we filled with water,
on a heat filled afternoon.
Balloons for graduation,
in the colors of your school,
balloons for celebration,
or to just say I love you.
Balloons cost only pennies,
but their real worth is in the measure,
of the smiles and joy they give us
and the memories that we treasure.
