Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
There's no escape!!

Through The Looking Glass

by Kazzawin

Mirror, mirror on the wall
Most perfect twin of one and all,
There's no escape from truthfulness
Or vain attempts at youthfulness.

A truer eye you'll never find
Though feedback is not always kind,
But be advised if truth you seek
This mirror may begin to speak.

On looking in that polished pane
I swear it once whispered my name.
Was that a shadow I just spied
Or something standing by my side?

I faced it and just stood and stared
Convinced myself  I wasn't scared,
But soon my looks began to change
To something evil and deranged.

I ran outside with abject fear
I couldn't bear to be that near,
To sights that soon disturbed my sleep.
What secrets did this mirror keep?

Yet, reassurance I did seek
With trepidation, took a peek,
Relief rushed through me as I saw
My face . . . just as it was before.

But after, when I chanced a view
Some evil being stood there too,
My screams were heard throughout the town
(No one could ever calm me down).

My madness now is legendary
For seeing ghosts that look like me,
And though I now don't ever see
I know those eyes still follow me.

Beware that mirror on the wall
Set there to punish or enthrall,
Don't tarry long, don't stop and stare
You may not like what lingers there.
