Alone at an outdoor cafe

Black Coffee

I place my cup on an outside table
summer breezes sweep over the
parking lot turning heat waves into
tiny swirling zephyrs

I sit alone, sip my black coffee
gaze up to heaven, blue sky
hung with cotton clouds and muse
what lies ahead for me?
