pandora's box

by judester

I believe in sanctuary.
Compassion, if we can.
Providing safety and a home
altruisic helping hands.

Migrants came from Mexico
from a life of poverty,
willing to work, on the farms
with skilled integrity.

Now the fields need harvesting,
did no one think of that?
The gentle workers were sent home,
we've burned the welcome mat.

Pandoras box now open,
we've thrown away the lid.
Those people worked, paid taxes.
More than Donald ever did.

Just saying.... I wonder how much revenue is lost from these hardworking people no longer paying taxes as they are kicked out or go underground. Baby and bathwater come to mind. Canada and America are rich in so many ways and we can afford to give a helping hand. We are all immigrants.
