I don't feel like smiling

My Grumpy Day Got Ruined

by BlueMarble

Poem For A Child Contest Winner
I think I'll be grumpy for a while
I'll go all day and never smile
I don't want to sing I don't want to shout
I just want to sit right here and pout
I don't want to smile, that’s all there is to it
Don't even try - You can't make me do it
A butterfly fluttering by
Thought he'd stop and give it a try
He fluttered his wings around my nose
Then he tried to tickle my toes
I don't want to smile, can't you see
I won't do it - you can't make me
Next there came a bumble bee
He bumbled around in front of me
He flew some loops in the air
Let him be loopy I don’t care
He can bumble till his bumbler wears out
I'm still going to sit right here and pout
A frog tried but could only croak
He must have thought it was just a joke
Then there was a bird that tried with a song
But he seemed to have the words all wrong
I just won't do it - not today
My mind is made up so go away
Just then a squirmy worm started to wiggle
I couldn't help it - I had to giggle
He was such a funny sight to see
His silly dancing ruined me
He wiggled in circles and rolled around
I giggled so hard I fell to the ground
I giggled until my sides were sore
I wasn't grumpy anymore
I wonder how it can be that way
Such a little thing ruined my grumpy day
I’ll have to think about that after while
I’m busy now with my grump-less smile
