Through the Veil of Time

When viewed through the veil of time
the past appears more sublime.
We yearn for halcyon days
replete with old-fashioned ways.

How precious those good times were.
In retrospect we prefer
to idealize old friends -
whom loyally we defend.

Time has a way of blurring
some of the lines assuring
that memories are preserved
in a way that they deserve.

Writing Prompt
Please write a 'POEM' that encompasses 'Time'
For eg... what it means to us and perhaps how we are effected by it.

'Rhymed' poetry only please, consisting of at least 2 stanzas.

I also ask that you refrain from adding any sound effects and such so as to not detract from the written word.
