Let's share this planet gracefully

by judester

Let's share this planet gracefully
with animal friends, let them be!
We pave the forests, trash the sea,
kill for tusks, wipe out honeybees.

Pitbull fights, woeful captured bears,
dancing in costume at some fair.
Burdened donkeys, whipped needlessly,
let's share this planet gracefully.

Sharks definned, for mere wedding soup,
sea life strangled in plastic loops.
Listless lions, roar for a fee,
let's share this planet gracefully.

Look an elephant in the eye,
a cosmic soul, you can't deny.
Please, treat all life respectfully.
Let's share this planet, gracefully

Kyrielle writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
A kyrielle is made of quatrains that rhyme. Each stanza (that is a quatrain) has a line that repeats, so a line from a previous stanza. That line usually (but does not necessarily have to) be the last line in the stanza.

Each line in the poem has eight syllables. There is no limit to the number of stanzas. Usually there are three or more stanzas.

Any type of rhyme scheme can be used.

Thanks to eileen0204 for the perfect illustration. I hate needless cruelty. Life is cruel enough, without us adding to the grief. I saw a donkey once, burdened and scarred, between traffic. I could see the pain and hopelessness in his eyes, it made me weep.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
