Infidelity

by Ogden

The lure of thee bedazzled me.
I now see what I would not see.
What truth of thee eluded me?
That thee loves thee exclusively.

Thou art fairest that e'er could be.
What truth of thee eluded me?
Alas, thou lacked what fair should be.
You worshipped me inconstantly.

What truth of thee eluded me?
Thou hath aspects no man can see,
Cloaked in invisibility.
Thy name to me is Perfidy.

A kyrielle is made of quatrains that rhyme. Each stanza (that is a quatrain) has a line that repeats, so a line from a previous stanza. That line usually (but does not necessarily have to) be the last line in the stanza.

Each line in the poem has eight syllables. There is no limit to the number of stanzas. Usually there are three or more stanzas.

Any type of rhyme scheme can be used.

Inconstantly - unfaithfully
Perfidy - deceitfulness
