My African home

by judester

A hidden bungalow
in the woods,
by a lake
is home.

A nature reserve
where creatures run free,
flamingos, dikdiks, swinging monkeys.

Jacaranda paths of lavender blossoms
invite, entice a walk through them.

Tangerine sunrises cast pastel glows.
Kilimanjaro, holding on to her snow.
Steady winds, graceful eagles flying,
ride warm currents, putting on a show.

My dogs hang out, happy to be,
sharing the beauty
of nature
with me.

Thanks to eileen0204 for the perfect illustration. My husband and I live on a nature reserve in Tanzania. The house is high on a hill with Kilimanjaro, Mt Meru and Lake Duluti our stunning views.
