A once cold soul

by Neonewman

Her beauty casts a spell from yonder far.
My trepid heartbeat raps against its chest.
With eyes that burn as bright as David's star.
The worst in me has now been laid to rest.

A new sensation thaws a once cold soul.
My limbs begin to tremble and grow weak.
Desire engulfs the heart and takes control.
Emotions choke the words I wish to speak.

But what if her eyes cannot seem to see,
this loving, gentle soul that lies behind.
These unattractive features that are me,
I pray the heart will render thine eyes blind.

We gaily dance together locked in arms,
and fall in love, lost in each other's charms.
