They pick on the weird
the strange
the ones they don't understand

Anybody 'different'
they tease
and taunt
push and shove around

Until they flee
or fight back

Either way, they beat them senseless
physically
emotionally
spiritually
until they go crying home

But, what about the homeless
where do they go?

The streets
the alleys
There's nowhere safe
The police
the social workers
they don't help or understand

They have been bullied
themselves

Which is why they become
authority figures

so that they aren't taunted or teased anymore

Does anybody ever even up the score?
