Thunderstorm

by HarryT

I venture out on the porch
Fall rain showers the block
Red bricks turn bloody mock

Evergreen scent drifts
Silver streaks line dark clouds
Rainbow peeks through misty shroud

Thunder rolls in the southeast

Winds rush
branches whip
leaves tumble
heavens rumble

Lightening scratches the sky
I shudder and begin to cry

Dad steps out on the porch and
says consoling, "Don't worry, it's
only the angels bowling"
