Left With Only a Rose

A rose's fragrance saddens my heart
Teardrops fall, my soul in despair
Etched in my heart a love now lost
Memories recap what use to be

...... to love

              ...... to live

                           .....to laugh

I now must hold this rose so sweet
While my heart continues to weep
My heart broken from many lies
Leave only tears in my eyes

You are the thorn within this rose
as tears run down my cheek do flow
You left me weak, a broken heart
All my dreams were torn apart

A dead rose; petals have fallen
Sadness gone so are our tomorrows
Tears freed me from the pain you caused
I move forward to life anew

.....new rose will grow

                   .....no pain from thorns

                                      .....true love I'll find
