Hats Off to You

by Cynthia1

Your hats are scattered all asunder.
Now, tell us, is it any wonder
we are confused,
a bit amused
to see what you
will wear.

You pick the pillbox first we see
Oh, how we smile inside with glee!
So round its shape,
it mocks your face,
does not contribute to
your grace.

It is the wide brim next you choose.
We shake our heads, a bit amused.
We wonder if you realize
it will not win you
any prize?

Fedora's next- you strike a pose
and tip the rim above your nose.
The crowd goes wild for you have spoken
You've worn a "women's liber"
token.

So next you choose a red beret.
To France we go, Oh lay! Oh lay!
You wait to hear the crowd's reaction-
Alas, you get no
satisfaction!

The baseball cap? You would not dare!
But there you go- the hat sits there
upon your head for all to wonder
how you could make so
great a blunder!

Perhaps the lesson learned from this
is hats aren't made for every Miss
We're sure it wasn't your intention
to venture forth with
such pretension.
