Loneliness is worse than pain

Black Hole

by jaho58

The author has placed a warning on this post for language.
No friends left to talk with — I moaned them all away
Constant battles with family — they keep their distance
Repeated fights with shrink — he drops me
Treated like crap at home group — will never return

And what about you, God? My protector, my father?
You allowed my suffering for over 50 freaking years — you can go to hell.

Raised with abuse, I’m used to it — hey, I live and breathe this stuff;
I knew it was there, I felt it coming, and I prepared;
At least I felt alive — I had physical contact; I communicated;

Left the bottle and left the boyfriend;  asshole took my dog

Traded it all for what? A healthier lifestyle? A new start?
I’d rather be back there — my ‘normal’ — where I could handle things

Than to be so all alone….

God I miss my dog.

Lonely Poem writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a free verse poem to express the state of loneliness in not more than 15 lines.

No--this is not biographical, but tragically true of an acquaintance.

A black hole is a place in space where gravity is so strong because matter has been squeezed into a tiny space; gravity pulls so much that even light can not get out. The subject of this poem has been stuffing baggage into herself for a lifetime and her light never shines.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
