Another Fix, Another Poem
                                  by michael cahill

W ith blood injected, thoughts begin to seep
R ejection, anguish, pain--what shall I bleed?
I cannot stop the flow, dark red I weep
T his seems to be a must, for I don’t need
I beg all that is holy, make it stop
N othingness-- please ... fill my mind for once
G racious God, if peace you’d only swap

A rrest all thought ... despair confronts
D enied-- my quest has fallen on deaf ears
D eluded-- I thought love or joy might call
I have no want to swim in my own tears
C areening o'er my wretched waterfall
T he truth is the most hateful foe of all

Acrostic Poetry Contest contest entry

Recognized

This is from our weekly Poetry Potlatch Challenge.

The challenge for this week was an acrostic poem. The acrostic was:

WRITING ADDICT

Everyone is given the topic at the same time and we write a piece and post it as fast as possible. The time limit is one hour. I wrote this in ten minutes. I had trouble downloading a picture so it took another ten minutes to post.

I've since changed the picture and edited a couple typos.
